Who We Are
Our History
Off Da Rock Radio FKA Jigs & Reels Radio KW was inspired by my grandparents, Bill & Margaret Clarke of Heart's Desire, Trinity Bay, NL. Every year when I was four, they’d request “When the Robins Came Home” as we left our family holiday down home. Those songs and memories planted the idea to share Newfoundland and Labrador music with listeners here in the Waterloo Region.
I launched the show in 1988 and ran it for 20 years before hanging up the headphones. Seeing new singer-songwriters online not getting heard inspired me to resurrect it, and on January 3, 2022, Jigs & Reels Radio KW now called Off Da Rock Radio returned to the airwaves. Thanks to social media and streaming platforms, the music of NL now reaches a wider audience, and I’m proud to present it to you for two hours every Monday night and online at live365.com.

Our mission is to bring the best of Newfoundland and Labrador music to every listener, no matter the genre or era. From classic tracks that evoke memories to fresh releases introducing new talent, we celebrate the voices shaping NL’s music scene. Alongside the music, we feature interviews with singer-songwriters and key cultural figures, highlighting the people and stories behind the songs.
